Prabhas performs Ravana dahan in Delhi, fans say: ‘The spitting image of Lord Ram’ | Bollywood

Prabhas was in Delhi on Wednesday to do the Ravana Dahan at the Red Fort, which is where the world’s largest Ramlila is held every year. Every year on Dussehra, Luv Kush Ramlila invites a notable person to do the Ravana Dahan. This year, it was Prabhas’s turn. In his upcoming movie, Adipurush, which is based on the Ramayana epic, the actor plays Lord Ram. When fans saw pictures and videos of the actor at the event, they said he looked “just like Lord Ram.”

At the Luv Kush Ramlila on Dussehra night, Prabhas shared the stage with the director of Adipurush and the mayor of Delhi. Photos and videos from the event show Prabhas walking onto the stage with Om Raut’s hand in his and waving to the crowd. After the organizers congratulated him, the actor held up a Gada (a mace) to cheers from the crowd. Because Prabhas fans are so crazy about him, the event’s organizers say that there were also three units of paramilitary forces and 140 bouncers there to keep the crowd safe and under control.

Around 7 p.m., Prabhas took up the bow and arrow and fired the ceremonial shot to start the Ravana Dahan, the last act of the Ramlila at Dussehra. Fans of the actors shared pictures and videos of the moment with each other. One of his fans wrote, “Doesn’t he look just like Lord Ram? Just right.” Another person tweeted, “This picture alone shows why Om Raut was so determined to cast Prabhas as Raghava in Adipurush.”

Adipurush is based on the Ramayana; Prabhas plays Raghava, Kriti Sanon plays Janaki, and Saif Ali Khan plays Lankesh. Ram, Sita, and Ravana are portrayed by Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, respectively. The teaser for the movie came out on Sunday morning and was heavily criticized for having “amateur” VFX. Many people who saw the trailer didn’t like it. They called it “lively” and said it wasn’t as good as the recent hit Brahmastra or other versions of the Ramayana on screen. The preview was also shown at the hearing on Wednesday at the Ramlila.

Om Raut talked about the bad reviews of the teaser recently at a special 3D screening of the teaser. He told the Indian Express, “I was definitely upset, but it didn’t surprise me because the movie is made for a bigger screen.” You can cut it down, but you can’t get it down to the size of a cell phone. There is nothing I can do to change that. If I had a choice, I wouldn’t put it on YouTube, but I have to because that’s what people want. We have to get the word out so that a lot of people can see it.”

When it comes out on January 12, 2023, Adipurush will be shown in IMAX and 3D. The mythological drama will be shown in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. It was made by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar of T-Series, as well as Raut, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair of Retrophiles.
