The Google Doodle celebrates the winners of the 2022 Competition on Monday and this year the winning contestant from India is Shlok Mukherjee from Kolkata. Shlok has scribbled his hope that India’s scientific advances will take center stage. Therefore, Shlok’s Doodle will be featured on Google.co.in for 24 hours on November 14th (Monday).
This year’s contest received over 115,000 entries from children in 100 cities around India. The contest asked participants to write a piece of prose based on the 2050 theme “In the next 25 years, my India…”.
We were pleasantly surprised by the creative and imaginative ideas that we saw in the entries. The most common theme was advancing technology and sustainability which is what we love about Doodles.
Years ago, Shlok was the 2017 winner of the India Doodle contest. He won before everyone else and was recognized as an exceptional artist. One of his titles was (India Takes Center Stage). As he envisioned, India is coming up with impressive things lately in the field of science, international trips to space, research on Yoga and Ayurveda, and so on.
This year’s Google Doodle judging panel was comprised of actress, filmmaker, producer, and TV personality Neena Gupta; the editor-in-chief of Tinkle Comics, Kuriakose Vaisian; Slayypoint from the YouTube creators; and artist Alika Bhat. They decided on 20 finalists out of over 1,000 entries submitted.
Twenty amazing Doodles were chosen for this year’s Doodle contest. The national winner was selected, along with four group winners. Our Doodle contest aims to inspire young people, and we are incredibly inspired by all the talented creators from across the US.
