NCERT Recruitment 2022:

The National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is looking to hire 292 professors, associate professors, assistant professors, and librarians for academic positions in NCERT, New Delhi, and at its units in Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysuru, and Shillong. NCERT Recruitment 2022 Details:


1. Professor

40 spots are open (SC: 06, ST: 03, OBC: 12, UR: 14 & EWS: 04)

Who can do it (A or B):

(A)

I am An eminent scholar with a Ph.D. in the concerned/allied/relevant field who has published high-quality work, is actively doing research, and has published work in at least 10 peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and has a total research score of 120 based on the criteria in Appendix II, Table 2. (Check out the 2018 UGC Regulations.)

(ii) At least ten years of experience teaching at a university or college as an assistant professor, associate professor, or professor, or doing research at an equivalent level at a university or national level institution, with proof of having successfully guided doctoral candidates.

OR

(B) An outstanding professional with a Ph.D. in the concerned/allied/applied disciplines from any academic institution (not A above) or industry who has made a significant contribution to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/applied disciplines and has ten years of experience.

2. Associate Professor

Eligibility:

I have A good academic record and a Ph.D. in a field related to the one in question.

ii) A Master’s degree with a grade of at least 55% (or an equivalent grade on a point scale, wherever the grading system is followed).

(iii) At least eight years of experience teaching and/or doing research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of an Assistant Professor in a University, College, or Accredited Research Institution/industry, with at least seven publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of 75 according to the criteria in Appendix II, Table 2.

3. Assistant Professor

Who can do it (A or B):

A.

I have A Master’s degree in a related or related-but-not-the-same subject from an Indian university with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade on a point scale wherever grades are given) or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

(ii) The candidate must also have passed the National Eligibility Test (NET) given by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test approved by the UGC, like SLET/SET, or be a Ph.D. holder according to the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their changes from time to time.

The candidates who registered for the Ph.D. program before July 11, 2009, will be governed by the then-existing Ordinances/Bye-laws/Regulations of the institution that gave them the degree. These Ph.D. candidates will not have to take the NET/SLET/SET test to be hired as an assistant professor or in a similar position in universities, colleges, or institutions, as long as they meet the following conditions:

(a) The candidate received his or her Ph.D. in a normal way;

b) At least two outside experts have looked over the Ph.D. thesis;

(c) The candidate has had an open viva voce for his or her Ph.D.;

(d) The candidate has published at least one of his or her Ph.D. research papers in a peer-reviewed journal;

(e) The candidate has given at least two papers based on his or her Ph.D. work at conferences or seminars put on by the UGC, ICSSR, CSIR, or a similar organization.

The Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University in question will make sure that these conditions are met.

Note: NET/SLET/SET isn’t needed for Masters’ programs in fields where NET/SLET/SET isn’t given by the UGC, CSIR, or a test similar to SLET/SET that has been approved by the UGC. OR

(B) The Ph.D. was earned from a foreign university or institution that has ever been ranked among the top 500 in the World University Ranking by any of the following:

(i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)

ii) Times Higher Education (THE) or

iii. The Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) (Shanghai).

4. Librarian

One spot is open (UR)

Qualification:

I have A Master’s degree in Library Science, Information Science, or Documentation Science with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade on a point scale wherever grading is done.

(ii) At least ten years of experience as a librarian at any level in a university library, as an assistant or associate professor in library science, or as a college librarian for ten years.

(iii) Proof of innovative library services, such as how ICT is used in libraries.

(iv) A Ph.D. in library science, information science, documentation, archives, or keeping and keeping track of manuscripts.

5. Assistant Librarian

Two spots are open (OBC: 01 & EWS: 01)

Qualification:

I have A Master’s degree in Library Science, Information Science, or Documentation Science, or an equivalent professional degree, with at least a 55% mark (or an equivalent grade on a point – scale, wherever the grading system is followed)

(ii) A good record in school and knowledge of how to use computers in a library.

(iii) In addition to meeting the above requirements, the candidate must have passed the National Eligibility Test (NET) given by the UGC, CSIR, or a similar test approved by the UGC, such as SLET/SET, or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016, and their changes from time to time.

Provided that candidates who registered for a Ph.D. degree before July 11, 2009, will be governed by the then-existing Ordinances/Bye-laws/Regulations of the institution that gave them the degree. These Ph.D. candidates will not have to take the NET/SLET/SET exam to be hired as an assistant professor or in a similar position in universities, colleges, or other institutions, as long as they meet the following conditions:

(a) The candidate received his or her Ph.D. in the usual way.

b) At least two outside experts have looked over the Ph.D. thesis;

(c) The candidate has passed his or her open Ph.D. viva voce;

(d) The candidate has published at least one of the research papers from his or her Ph.D. work in a refereed journal;

(e) The candidate has given at least two papers based on his or her Ph.D. work at conferences or seminars put on by the UGC, ICSSR, CSIR, or a similar organization.

Pay Scale for Academic Jobs at NCERT

(a) Professor/Librarian: Academic level 14 with a rationalised entry pay of Rs. 1,44,200/- (previous pay scale: Rs.37,400-67,000 with AGP-10,000/-)

b) Associate Professor: Academic level 13A with a rationalised entry pay of Rs. 1,31,400/- (previous pay scale: Rs.37,400-67,000 with AGP-9,000/-).

(c) Assistant Professor/Assistant Librarian: Academic level 10 with a rationalised entry pay of Rs.57,700/- (previous pay scale: Rs.15,600–39,100 with AGP–6,000/-).

Application Fee of NCERT Recruitment

Application fee: Applicants from the UR, OBC, and EWS groups must pay a fee of Rs.1000/- (Rupees One Thousand Only) online. We won’t take any other form of payment. Applicants who are women or from SC/ST/PWD groups do not have to pay a fee. Once the fee is paid, there is no way to get it back.
