The world’s population is projected to reach 8 billion (800 crores) by November 15, 2022. India is expected to overtake China as the most populous country by 2023.
The United Nations believes the world population will grow to between 820 and 1400 million people by the year 2100, depending on assumptions. In reality, those projections are quite precise. The most valuable region for population growth is East and Southeast Asia, with 2.3 billion people in 2022, representing 29% of the global population. Today, 711 million people live in China, with more than 1.4 billion living in India as well.
In 20 years, the world will be very different. It’s predicted that more than half of the increase in world population will be concentrated in just eight countries: the Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines, and the United Republic of Tanzania. India is projected to overtake China as the most populous country by 2023.
