Sensex opens flat at Open, Nifty near 17,200; Key points

Sensex: The domestic stock markets started trading on a quiet note because foreign markets were not moving much and global signs were not good.

Among the top gainers on the Nifty were Axis Bank, Bajaj Auto, IndusInd Bank, Infosys, and Adani Ports, while the greatest losses were Tata Steel, ONGC, Reliance Industries, JSW Steel, and Apollo Hospitals.

Global signals

After another beating for Wall Street, Asian stock markets tumbled on Monday as investors braced for a further, severe tightening of global financial conditions and all the dangers of the recession that go along with it.

As a result of Wall Street falls, where investors ignored solid bank profits over worries about bond rates and rising recession risks, Tokyo equities began lower on Monday.

As investors processed the early phases of the Profits, US equities declined on Friday as rising inflation predictions maintained fears that the Federal Reserve’s aggressive rate-hike pace may lead to a recession.
