Pulak Banerjee began making music in 1969 at All India Radio in Guwahati. He lent his voice to movies such as Duronir Rong, Srimoti Mohimamoyee, Sewali, Ponakon, Maa, Sonskaar, Mon, etc. Pulak Banerjee remains a proponent of the works of the man for whom he was a favorite.
Pulak Banerjee’s popular tracks are Akash Jetiya Sondhyatoraye, Phoolor Ei Melate, Jibone ki bisare moi nejanu, Phoolor Dore Morohi Jowa, ji tumar premere, O’ nimati kanya tumi, and Tumar hate mure je aji niribili abhixar, Tumi Onek Kothai, etc.
