Filmfare Awards 2020
The film industry’s most prestigious Filmfare Awards will not be held in Mumbai this time. Award Night will be held on 15 February 2020 in Guwahati. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has given this information on his Instagram page. In which the MoU signed between the Government of Assam and the Organizers is also mentioned.
Apart from the Organizer Times Group of the award, the MoU has been signed by CM Sarbananda Sonowal, Assam Tourism Minister Chandan Brahma, Assam Tourism Development Chairman Jayanta Mala Barua, and M Angamuthu, Commissioner-Secretary, Tourism Department in the state government.
Filmfare Awards started 65 years ago:
These awards are given every year by the English Magazine Filmfare for best contributions in various fields of Hindi film. It started in 1954 when the National Film Awards were also not instituted. The awards are given on the basis of the vote of the public and the members of the jury. The award ceremony was earlier titled ‘The Clairs’, which was based on the name of the film critic Claire Mendinocha. The first prize ceremony held on 21 March 1954, held only five awards.
