Jayanta Hazarika was a legendary Assamese singer and composer from Assam. He was born in 1943 in Mangaldai, Assam, and was the younger brother of the renowned Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. He was popularly known as “Rana-da” and left a deep impact on Assamese music with his soulful voice and innovative compositions.
Jayanta Hazarika began his musical journey accompanying his brother Bhupen on stage and gradually carved his own niche in the Assamese music scene. He was a versatile artist who excelled in singing, composing, and playing several instruments.
