Boy from Jorhat Attempt to create world record with yoga
Siddhartha Sankar Saikia a resident of Rangdoi in the Bahona area of North East Jorhat is making preparations to create a world by performing sit-ups while riding a motorbike on Nimati road of Jorhat.
In a press meet held at Jorhat Press Club recently, Siddhartha Sankar Saikia announced that on 2nd April this year he would go for a feat to create a world record by performing 60 sit-ups in 60 minutes on a bike moving at a speed of 60 to 80 km per hour. ” the speed of the bike would depend on the weather ” said Siddhartha.
He also mentioned that there are no such earlier records of this feat.
Earlier Siddhartha Sankar Saikia of Jorhat successfully got his name inducted into the Asia Book of Records for his feat; “Most Consecutive Yoga Postures on a Motorbike”.
Siddhartha Sankar Saikia performed a total of 62 yoga postures while riding a motorbike covering a distance of 800 meters in 55 minutes, on March 31, 2013, on Nimati road.
His attempt was approved by the India Book of Records and was honored with the title of “Record Holder”. India Book of Records for being an extraordinary person.
“My efforts this time will also be to send the message of yoga among the youths with the help of which physical and mental fitness can be attained,” said Siddhartha Sankar Saikia.
He also said “Yoga and meditation can play a major role in our lives to stay physically fit and healthy ”
Siddhartha is the chief trainer of Manchuria Kung Fu Academy in Jorhat he also imparts training in Kick Boxing and is a Judge and referee of Kick Boxing events at the National level.
